Make-a-Wish: Robin goes to Wonderland
This was my 2nd volunteer effort for the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Robin is a 10 year old girl with a life threatening benign brain tumor. Her wish was to go to Wonderland.
This was a 2 day program, and my effort to help was day one.
After some car trouble on Rainier Avenue, I arrived only a few minutes and met Robin and her family. The White Rabbit was there, and to be her escort for the remainder of the weekend. With the limo outside, we made our way to Nordstroms where she got to try on multiple dresses and chose one dress to wear on Sunday while playing Croquet with the Queen.
From Nordstroms, we hurried off to the Space Needle where there were more clues about her next destination. While looking through a telescope, she found the White Queen on Lower Queen Anne. We made our way to "The Ruins", which is a private dining establishment. They had afternoon tea all planned out with many actors and actresses playing roles from Wonderland.
After a few hours there, we made our way to Pier 66 where she found herself on a 42' catamaran sailing for Bainbridge Island.
This was the end of my adventure with Robin and her family, but is where Henry took over.
